Looking for a new workout!

Hi, I'm currently working out 5 days a week. 3 days of weights and in between those days I do cardio. I'm not lifting really heavy...it's a full body workout with compound exercises for each body part. Cardio is anything from biking, running, squash, elliptical and so on. But I'm bored. I'd like to do something that incorporates all these things. I'd love to be able to be in and out of the gym in 1 hour with weights and cardio completed---even going to the gym 4 days instead of 5. Something high intensity so I'm really tired and sweaty. Something that will keep me in great shape. Not a big muscle guy, just strong and healthy. Does anyone know of a routine that I can use at the gym for this? I goto New York Sports Clubs, so the workout areas can be a bit tight, and sometimes I have to wait on machines and weights. Just something to consider. Also I'm 38.5 and 163 lbs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lou!

Tried high intensity interval training (HIIT)? You know, alternating three minutes at an easier pace (on treadmill or bike or whatever) with 30 to 60 seconds of near all-out sprinting, for 20 or 30 or more minutes? The misery you feel will blot out some of the boredom. And there’s always the exciting chance of an NBE (Near Barf Experience.) Just make sure you don’t trip while running at 10 mph on the treadmill lest you get thrown through the back wall of the gym, leaving a you-shaped hole in the wall.)

Hah!

I like the description of HIIT, and how ‘misery blocks out boredom’. So true; never thought of it that way. NBE is possible as is ABE, though I’ve never gotten there myself.

I’ll address this question in a blog, perhaps today; I have some ideas. A
